I'm starting a JA2 game and can't decide what difficulty to play. I like a challenge and usually play the hardest difficulty for strategy/rpgs, but the manual and the fact that JA2 was developed by sir-tech (I've played some wizardry 8) have me a little intimidated. I also like to be able to roleplay a little bit, and don't like having to use cheesy tactics to win. That being said, I really hate having to restart a game because it has become too easy. So I guess my question is whether expert difficulty requires powergaming and cheesy tactics or if it is just challenging.

If you dislike to re-start because the game is too easy, just go with the hardest setting.
