I am currently stuck in mission 13, where I start in SW corner and am supposed to inflitrate a building in NE and return with "anything intelligence might deem of value". My problem is that just about turn five someone explodes a bomb in the building and the game tells me the mission can't be completed successfully anymore. I kind of expect I'll need to reach the building first and only after that destroy the opposition, but as it is rather difficult to walk around while being shot at, I would appreciate a confirmation that my assumption is correct.

(For the record, I don't *need* to complete the mission, I have enough money to last several failed missions, but it bugs me...)

Your suspicion is correct.
Sneaking past the guards is very difficult, especially when you only have x number of turns to do it. I never succeeded, but the tactic was rather to lure some guys down, then move one or two guys past them to kill off the few behind. Hopefully no one is behind those guys.
According to the booldstains in the building, there is probably one guard. I should have no trouble dispatching him. I will give it a try - I just needed to know if it is the right approach before I commit myself.
