Does anyone have list of all possible recipes and list of items that explains what they do? For example, what the heck camera does?

I'm talking about first game, but if you have such lists for second game, feel free to post them.

Of the top of my head, all the merges I can think of are:
Metal Rod + Spring = Rod and Spring (used to lower the shooting cost of guns, is permanent, so use only on good guns)
Steel Tube + Glue + Duct Tape = Gun Barrel Extender (increases gun range, occasionally falls of when shooting, can be picked up and used again)
Soda Can + String = Can With String (can be attached to doors to create a makeshift alarm whenever the door is opened/closed)
RDX Crystals + C1 = C4 (I don't think any explanation is needed, a more powerful explosive)
RDX Crystals + TNT = HMX (same as above)
Fumble Pack + X-Ray Tube + Gum = X-Ray Device
Gameboy Display + Copper Wire = Display Unit
- - - - - X-Ray Device + Display Unit = X-Ray Detector (detects metal, but I've never actually built this before so I'm not exactly sure how it works, always lacking 1 bliddy item lol)
Compound 18 and Royal Jelly can each be used on armors to improve them (RJ > C18 btw)

Oh, if you find a scottish scientist on your travels, you hand him the camera (and a good rifle, can't remember if any other things are needed) he'll finish of his robot and give it to you. Its not awesome but it has its uses :)

I guess all of those are Jagged Alliance 2 crafting recipes... Anyway thank you.

BTW, are Eagle grenades/molotovs/mustard gas/stun gas/tear gas better than normal ones?(talking about first game) And I guess camera is just for fun in first game? Also, does smokeball appear in normal game in pc version? I saw it in trailer of ds port and heard that some guy found it on editor, but does it actually appear in the game?

Yeah, I had an edit at the top of my post saying "all the merges I can think of for JA2 are" but I don't know where that went or what happened to it???

Anyway, I didn't have the first games before gog came but I had JA2, and since buying them here I've not really gotten round to playing them much. So I'm not familiar with the earlier games, sorry. In vanilla JA2 I never really liked most of the nades that much, I didn't find them very damaging (a decent gun pulling off a headshot always seemed to do more damage than nades ever did) or helpful to me (mustard gas nades are great though, especially in small tight areas).
In 1.13, I increased the damage of explosive weapons. So now they're quite destructive and absolutely lethal in the hands of a heavy weapons/bombardier/demolitions specialist. I also increased the dispersion area and time of all the gas grenades a little more. Now I actually enjoy using grenades and get a little afraid of enemies using them :).
Hmm, I see. Oh well, still thank you for the answer, I managed to find list for first game though it still didn't tell whether original version actually had smokeballs in the game.
Another few recepies

bloody knife + rag = clean knife (kinda useless?)
Knife + Deidranna Rules T shirt = Rag
Rag + alcohol of some kinda = Molotov

This is off memory, so might be a bit incorrect (I'm not sure if all alcohol works for molotovs, for example)

I realize this is old, but here is the list of JA1 recipes (the original game that OP asked about)
This is from memory and from my own experiments.
Please note, you can change the item order for some of them, but, as far as I'm aware, that could increase the chance of creating a useless item.
Best let your mechanic handle this. Explosive skill might also be useful. Save and try.

Weapon + lead pipe = improved weapon
(use for good weapons/rifles only since lead pipes are limited. An improved magnum can use silencers, which might be useful when attacking the factories).

Armor(vest/helmet) + compound 17 = improved armor
(again, don't wast it on poor armor or helmets)

explosive (plastic/TNT) + detonator = live explosive

glass jar + gas + oil + piece of cloth = molotov cocktail
(like grenade, but not stackable)

gas + oil + piece of cloth + grenade(regular/tear/mustard/stun) = Eagle explosive
(you can get 4 varieties depending on grenade type you use.. they are called Eagle Screamer, Eagle Silencer, Eagle Dog.. can't remember the 4th one... I think it's Eagle fireball)

torn piece of paper + torn piece of paper + torn piece of paper = safe code

Useless items:
Camera
Alarm Clock
Radio
(I believe these items are leftovers from stuff that got cut out from the final release)

All other items can be used for something. Some are quest related. Some notes provide additional info.
The encrypted notes are just substitution cipher. I spent hours and decrypted them all myself, only to find that part of the cipher can be found as a note.
The note in the strange language can be translated by a native.

If you need help about any item, just ask.
