I'd actually piggy-backed on Skeet8385's post about problems on Win11
It's at the bottom if you care to see.

All the business about this game not running took place on a new rig, that's honestly a couple yrs out now.
Long story short, I grabbed the off-line installer on this smaller machine (yet still quite capable). Run install.
Start the game, BOOM there it is.

Couple things I thought worth mentioning. Again, I'm still on Win10

I AlmOST install the Runtime 2010 (pardon if I typed the name wrong) on that larger machine, except I wasn't sure how it'd effect what I'm doing there +, on this machine that it's starting on, there are no Runtime installations that I can see in Programs. So that ain't it.

I had a hunch that because this machine being finely seasoned the way it is - it'd work. So it happens.


I'm open to suggestions as to how I can tell what's missing, that'd allow it to open without even Looking at Compatibility mode. Especially since I know that the executable is set to Vista. Scout's honor. Though it's not toggled initially.

Also, my attempts to run the config file on the other machine ended with just the white box that it runs from, just flashing for a sec. Nothing visible - too fast. On this computer where the game's starting, the config file's opening long enough for me to see it's text and what it looks like over all but it's still only a couple seconds and it's gone. Most importantly, there's a empty bar, ya know like it's installing or loading something but it never get's the chance. Poof - it's gone.

So - I'll have to run it in (I think it's...) 1600x1080. Couple black bars on the sides, no biggie. I'm jus thappy it'll run, aye.
Any thoughts?
