I like the story, i like the plot, i hate the combat in this game. Who think's its good? I don't see it. Its clunky, horrible to move around, you for some reason are crouched the whole fight moving slow unless you do dashes/jumps while everything else moves normal speed. I really really hate the combat i hope everyone else doesn't think that this "fighting" game has good fighting mechanics. Hitting buttons doesn't seem to do anything much of the time. Go to do a strong attack.. nothing.. oh, i could use an Area attack right about now.. left mouse/right mouse...nothing. Really, very bad.

Any ideas? Because this is one of the worst combat games i've played, and i've played a whole lot. Its horrible as a hack and slash, its horrible as a tactical, it seems to try and want to do both but does neither well. I tried turning off the auto-targetting but that was even worse as i constantly aimed at nothing while trying to actually move about and get a target where i could hit it, had to go back to tab targetting in order to actually face foes instead of the grass in the opposite direction.

I hope it gets better, i really do, but so far the story is all thats keeping me in, the actual gameplay is pathetic.
Yeah, you have to play this game in easy difficulty so the fights are less boring and made shorter.
Then it's pleasant.

Have you played Knight of the Old Republic? Very similar.
It's not really that bad once you get the hang of it. It's not a Hack 'n' Slash or Spectacle Fighter by any means. Attacks and most actions aren't instantaneous and can't be overridden once you're committed, and even the most basic enemies pack a decent punch, so button mashing is recipe for disaster. It's all about blocking/dodging around a lot and picking your moments to attack very carefully, especially if you're going for a strong attack.
Yes. yes it is.
The combat is much smoother on Xbox. Maybe try a controller?
This game loves stunlocks. Try a fast combat style like leaping tiger and keep leveling it up for extra speed and damage. If you can attack faster than the other guy, you can keep interrupting their attacks and stunlock them to death. This works great on bosses and slow stuff like ogres for that reason - just get close and spam light attacks until their dead. They can't fight back because they won't be able to finish any of their attacks.

Leaping tiger is also a good moveset because with the light attack 3 move combo you somersault forward with the 3rd hit. A lot of NPC's don't account for this and you can hit them when they're backing away from you.

Also remember to do area attacks and jump attacks with W+MB1. Combining the two is very effective. Your area attack knocks people back and then you can use the jump attack to close the distance quickly and start pummeling them before they can stand back up again.

There's a ice move that freezes you solid and some ghosts love to spam that. The cooldown is the same length as the freeze to they can perma-freeze you and beat you to death while you're frozen. Bad design on that. The cooldown should be longer than the freeze and there should be a way to break out of the freeze. I don't have ice style but it seems like it would be another good style to look at.
