Hi everyone
Does someone can tell me if the savegame filetype is the same as the old dos version?
I'm like cheating on file in hexadecimal.
The best is that somebody upload a file to give me a way to compare it.
Can you do that please?
The ishar version on GOG.com is the DOS version.

Yes, I read that on the forum. There was 3version (and little bit more for falcon and maybe different amiga version AGA ESA (?) ) AtariST, Amiga and DOS.
µFor DOS and ATARI ST, the file of the savegame was exactly the same :D (or with few differences wich don't break the transfert.
The fact is DotEmu have "repacked" these game for actual computers. BUT is the savegame system file is the same as DOS? Is ther a unique *.exe like flash game for exemple, or what.
I make a big hexa guide for these game and just want to know if it will be ok with the this conversion or if I will have to restart the work ;)

Are you sure about that ?
You simply get the DOS version of the game.
OMG !!
THIS IS a DOS version, with DOSBox emulator it seem (It's the same file than the DOS version and there is a dosbox config file in the folder, thanks Makado).
Yes I'm pretty sure. I find that project and follow it since a little time ever.
Here is the Dotemu's website.

And there, we learn :

Do you have to install a specific software / emulator on the phone before playing ?
"No, the original game is encrypted and merged with our emulation engine, to bring a final product which can be used on usual distribution channels."
So finnaly, DotEmu has just make their own version of DOSBox usable with Crystal&Ishar series.
I'm such a bit disappointed.
This games was abandonware or like that, and now, they just send it us.
The Team of Dosbox know that societie make money with OpenSource emulator?
Dotemu buy the right or have Silmarils like client, make a conf file for dosbox and let's go ! :D
Fantastic!! ^^
I don't think that it was easier to make money. (beware, I don't say that it' doesn't deserve. Just I think it's "fort de café")
So, thanks both of you to answered me. Finally, I had ever the compilation since I learn that.
I will certainly make a pack with MAPs hex code and walktrough that I'll put on the web (free ;) )

There's nothing new about it. Most dos rereleases use DOSBox or ScummVM (and I'm not just talking about GOG games). It's perfectly legal as well as you can sell open source software as long as it's license does not contain non-commercial clause and they otherwise respect the license agreement provided.
