When I attempt to play any of the games I get no sound other than a loud, high pitched dronning noise.
Any known fix for this?

I have the same issue. When I start the game (Ishar) instead of having a sound I hear only beeping.

Lessons learned about the DOSBOX versions - the new version doesn't mean always better experience :( . I'm just playing Ishar 2 and also had those issues, the version 0.74-2 is for Ishar more suited. Or use the 0.73, that one was working ( at least for me ) quite well.
