I love this game when i sarted the game the way to travel and the good feeling when finding 15k of gold and thinking wow thats a lot but find out that its not enough. My problem Im a type of person who is paranoid afraid that i die so i save a lot and since saving requires gold (luckely they removed that on 2 and 3) has anyone that problem at the start ? That you come to an area where you think its getting ugly i want to save but is it worth losing gold or do i something wrong and its easy to earn gold at the start?

thanx that gold cheat is handy since 1000 gold a save takes a lot with saving a lot
uhm how do i do that? :)
Wait, saving requires gold? Maybe I shouldn't have bought this just because I like first person CRPGs... That sounds uber lame. Oh well, I'll give it a try. 3 bucks isn't bad though.

Only ishar 1 you have to pay to save
I'm just trying to decide whether to buy the game or not, and the idea of my character losing gold with each game save sounds intriguing. I probably tend to play too cautiously, particularly where quick reactions are required, and this sort of thing might be effective in nudging me to take more risks.
I've played a few roguelikes, and they try to discourage you from saving by making you exit the game completely every time you do, but penalising the pc seems a better way.

yeah and you have to get used to the area there is no such thing as an automap so you can get lost.

More to the point, upon dying in a roguelike your save is deleted. Saving is just a means of resuming play if you need to stop playing and your character is still alive; death is permanent. Interestingly, roguelikes actually typically reward very cautious play, whereas in the case of Ishar 1 it seems to encourage risky play, which is interesting. I'm looking forward to trying these games out.

By the way, how does Crystals of Arborea fit into everything? Does it come before the Ishar trilogy? I was wondering which game is meant to be played first.

what i have heard it was a story before the triology. \i think what i understand from it you can see it as the triology as lord of the rings and crystal of arborea as the hobbit.
