We all know there's no manual for this game, but the extensive ingame help can give you most of the answers.
But not for this one.
I was just wandering in an underground tunnel system, stumbled upon a troll, killed it, and it left a helmet on the ground.
Is this for just decoration? if not, how do I pick it up?

As far as I can figure out sleep only restores energy, not life? Even though life regeneration is mentioned (or implied) by the game documentation?

Does that mean those life potions are the only means of restoring health? Do you get more than the initial five?

I've only just played around a bit with Crystals of Arborea, and I'm not sure if I want to bother with playing it more. The sleep mechanic is too slow and bothersome (It seems Jarels energy is restored instantly, but his companions' EXTREMELY slowly?)

I know it's been a year since anyone posted anything here but whatever.I'm playing through the game right now and the only way to heal that i know of is to use potions, you can then use fountains that you find (I found 2) to refill the potions.
Cool little game, and cool to see such an international variety of people playing it!

I have been playing this on an Atari ST, I would have bought the pack on gog.com but I have Windows 7 and it doesn't list that as one of the compatible systems, so I thought I wouldn't risk it.

I played Crystals of Arborea first, because I like to play a series of games in order. I've played for about 15 minutes and I haven't got my head around the sleep system, but to be honest I think I've seen everything this game has to offer. The combat system is OK. Wandering around is a bit dull as it's just so slow and the graphics don't really have much to offer. I'd rather look at my Magic TG cards :) The characters don't really have any personality.

Good game for it's time though. Bring on Ishar 1!

Works fine under win7 for me.
