I just tested out the demo on Steam (hopefully the demo gets put on GOG) and I am having a hard time telling what is happening. Maybe I just suck at this type of RTS. It has been years since I played a faster paced squad based one. Last one I played was Starcraft I believe.

I find the squads are not that responsive. They run all over the place half the time and seem to mill about in circles. I cant tell if the cover is actually working or if the squads are attacking as directed.

I watched a Youtube series of videos of the Polania campaign and none of this seemed prevalent in those play throughs.

Probably due to the player having spent a lot of time with the game. However, based on other demo review posts others are having similar experiences.

It would have also been nice to have access to some of the early Polania campaign as opposed to the multiplayer skirmish maps and 1 challenge map.

It would have given a better feel for the game over all.

All in all I am looking forward to experiencing more of the game. I will keep playing the demo and see if my thoughts on it change. It definitely has potential. :)

Thanks for you input. Unfortunately we weren't able to provide campaign levels in the demo and they kinda act like a tutorial. We threw you in at the deep end with the MP and skirmish :P
We know we have a lot more to work on but there is definitely a buzz and potential here :)

Demo if you pre-order?
I need a GOG demo or I don't open my wallet.

I DL'd the Demo tonight from Steam and the first thing I did was hop into the Campaign. Started off as a little girl, fought some bullies, chased off a Rusviet invasion or two... I haven't hit MP or Skirmish. I only stopped when I got to the first "Build your base" mission.

On the whole, I'm enjoying the experience. It reminds me a LOT of Company of Heroes with some very cool units. Right down to the way units try to take cover behind walls, green/yellow cover indicators, even the Retreat button is there to send my Engineers running home. Like 90% CoH gameplay with Ironcast units. I'm not complaining. It's like dropping my chocolate into peanutbutter and then flipped it back over into some fudge.

Some graphics glitches - minor screen tearing in what looks like VSYNC problems, but couldn't find a way to turn it on/off.

The logic in "I need my freebie here, not there, before I spend any money" eludes me. I buy as many titles as I can on GOG, but won't spit on someone because they release something on Steam first.

Cool, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Your bound to love the rest of the campaign missions when they are released.
We're working hard to iron out the graphical glitches and with the recent update we have added Vsync options to the settings menu

The Demo had the main campaign for you? For me it was greyed out and I could only play the skirmish maps.
I just noticed that now the Open Beta is available. That would explain why the main campaign is now there. :) I will try it out.
