What are Pocket items??? I know ENTER activates them, but I don't know what they are.

You could already pick up and save inventory items like the portable medkit and the radar before. Other items were automatically used on pick-up before. Now you can save one of those items for later as well. The Aftershock expansion will add some new items that you can save as well. I hope that explains it well enough.
