I see a lot of topics about this on the Steam discussions, but since I bought IF on GOG and have not seen any real response about this I wanted to post.

Since the patch the game has become unplayable, including massive framerate drops, frame skipping, and crashing when trying to alter any options in the options panel. I have tried several of the fan-proposed fixes but none have worked so I am stopped in my tracks about half-way through my Maximum Fury playthrough.

Has there been any word at all that I have missed?
Well it runs better for me but I found very weird issue (game screen disappears and not initializing again when changing resolution in fullscreen - process is still running in background and playing music, software mode) doing it in windowed mode then switching to fullscreen helps.

Sounds like another game I'm going to wait for a few more updates before getting.

Weird. Never noticed any of that, though I'm playing on my Linux partition. Should try it on Windows. I get the occasional frame skip, but nothing different from 1.00. I'mma see if setting it to classic (instead of OpenGL) helps in that regard as well. The graphics don't seem MASSIVE upgraded in OpenGL anyway.

Either way, seems like it'd be best for Voidpoint and 3DR to issue a few more patches. Seems a bit rough 'round the edges still, which is odd considering how long it was in development.
