Just updated to the new version.
When trying to resume my game, I get a black screen with the "flame" effect from the mouse cursor...and nothing else happening. Clicking, key presses etc. doing nothing for minutes.

I might mis-remember, but I kind of feel, that when starting a new save file I believe there was a standard character to choose. But now there's just a padlock on both pet and character. And clicking to start results in the same limbo.
