I have i76 and Nitro Pack now installed and running beautifully on my WinXP and Win7 computers (Thanks to The Arsenal Launcher 2.0.)
1. My XP computer has a different internet connection than my Win7 computer (different ISP).
2. Both are behind a router, this cannot be changed.
3. I have the updated server list
So, I try to host a game on one computer (on any server) and I see it on the other computer, but when I press Join, it tells me "cannot find info" and the server disappears. This is as far as I am getting. It has the same exact behavior if both computers are behind the same router.
I either need to know what ports to forward in my router, or gonna have to try IPX, which I know nothing about. So far, it seems no one has gotten any of this stuff to work. Let's at least try a little harder this time, or if it's impossible, let's document it.

How do I get the arsenal launcher 2.0 to work with interstate '76? I have no idea how to do this, note: I am using the original cd from about 1999.

I think it should work still, but haven't tried it yet. Just make sure you install the Launcher in the folder one step above your /Interstate 76/ folder. If you are using C:/Program Files/Activision/Interstate 76, install the launcher in the Activision folder. I am testing a lot of things today, I will try to test that too if I can find my old CD. (Oh yeah your Interstate76 folder will have to have the space in it, i.e. "Interstate 76")

So, I got a hold of an old-school player and he basically told me:
1. The ORIGINAL I76 CD should work online out of the box, assuming you have the right server address. OK, I found my original I'76 CD (Pre-Gold Edition) and tried that online. Could not host any games still (server not responding error). So much for that.
2. Nitro Pack will not work online normally, but should work through IPX. I actually bought Kali to try this out ($10 lifetime...) because I have to know. I ran into a couple issues though. Windows 7 DOES NOT SUPPORT IPX... AT ALL. So that sucks. On to the WinXP computer: I added Nitro Pack to my Kali Program... and I really don't know if I am doing this right... I create the game in Kali, and it launches Nitro Pack, but I still have to go in and select Host IPX game. As soon as I try to create the game it crashes to desktop. I have NO Kali/IPX experience so if someone could help me out with this, I would appreciate it.
So there you have it. I'76 is my favorite game of all-time, ESPECIALLY the online play. Endless fun, but, I pretty much give up on this. Maybe I will buy a dial-up connection for a month and see what happens... but for now, I need a BEER.

It's asking me to open it with something, what should I do now?
Not sure...
Make sure you moved the original file you downloaded to the folder above your I76 folder. When you run the .exe file, it will unzip a lot of files to this folder. Open Launcher.exe, it is self-executable (cannot open with anything but windows itself).
I have seen at least other person asking what you are asking, and the solution is probably to rename your Interstate76 folder to "Interstate 76".. no apostrophe or anything, has to be exact... if this doesn't fix it, you may have to upgrade to Interstate 76 GOLD possibly, and if that doesn't work, just shell out $6 for this arsenal pack. It is really worth the money, even w/o online play... i have it running perfectly on XP and Win7

It's asking me to choose the program to open the I76_Launcher_v20_Setup
Do I need some kind of software to open it?

Nope... It should be I76_Launcher_v20_Setup.exe ... so if you don't see a ".exe", add it

Well thats a life long lesson learned thanks man!
But I already got it working using a whole nother setup but it's only a slight fix compared to actually using this.
Trying to run this it's saying that I'm missing files, I am using gold edition with the arsenal.
Finally got it working.

Gotta install it directly into the Arsenal folder, do not make a sub-folder for it or put it anywhere else.
Also... I will post a map pack on this forum soon for Nitro Pack at least... I still have all my files from a decade ago somehow.
