so in short of it
we all know what dgvoodo does
but cpu grabber fixes lights flickering and and wheels wobbling

set __COMPAT_LAYER=Win98
this line in batch script fixes rainbow colors it will be included below

for some reason dgvoodoo alone was fixing it for me for some time but 1 day lights and wheels go ape shit on their own and i started to search for alternative
benefit of cpugrabber is that u r not limiting framerate but cpu usage i believe
i remember someone here said that u need to limit interstate to 25 frames to make its physics run properly because that is how game was meant to be played
i remember i was running it on my pentium II in more than 25 frames so i knew it was bs
25 fps my ass

ok configuration

download dgvoodoo
dege.freeweb.hu

download CPU Grabber
https://www.thelostworlds.net/Software/Blood_Omen_PC_Patch_for_XP_and_Vista.html
or https://www.thelostworlds.net/Downloads/MS-DS-CPUGrabber.zip
MIRROR
https://www.mediafire.com/file/oo2dnbrt3152sdj/interstate+bat+%2B+cpugrabber.zip

place dgvoodooCpl.exe + Glide.dll and Glide2x.dll and cpugrab.exe in respective game folders for i76 and nitro (i believe u could place only Glide2x.dll but placing both wont hurt)

"u have my settings in attachment" or here
https://www.gog.com/upload/forum/2019/09/c48cf1aeb2574ea55d3946a3113ae57432385f8c.png

dgvoodoo global tab
aside from clicking .\ to set correct path UN CHECKED every single option while going with full screen

dgvoodoo glide tab
voodoo rush, ram 2mb, TMU 2048, resolution 1920x1080 but im sure u can pick urs, TMUs 1, MSAA x8, every single option left was UN CHECKED

dgvoodoo directx tab
ati radeon 8500, vram 256, RESOLUTION SET THIS TO UNFORCED AS Nigler EXPLAINS IN POST BELOW, MSAA x8, every single option left was UN CHECKED (1920x1080 is my resolution if u care go with different it will most likely work)

create text file and change its extension to .bat
inside place this and save

set __COMPAT_LAYER=Win98
Start /w "" "i76.exe" -glide

now all u need to do is launch cpu grabber hit start on it (u dont need to change slider just press start) and then launch interstate from bat and ur good

if u r uber lazy like me here is bat script for launching cpugrabber with game itself (u still need to alt+enter or alt+tab to click start on cpu grabber but at least u can make schortuct to batch file instead of going into interstate folder each time u want to play it with proper physics)

set __COMPAT_LAYER=Win98
Start "" "cpugrabrab.exe"
Start /w "" "i76.exe" -glide

i made this on windows 7 64 ultimate with nvidia geforce gtx 960
i wish someone with different windows or graphic card or both try it out and post here results

u can start/stop cpu grabber while game is running just alt tab or alt enter it to see difference in wheels wobble

enjoy

Hello there,

The game starts up for me, however i have a problem in the main menu that my cursor doesnt work.
my cursor is lagging and when i hit the options menu or any other, the cursor does nothing.

Anyone has a fix for this?
I figured it out, the cursor is lagging when i have a resolution higher than 640x480.
I do have the game on fullscreen now, but yeah you can see every pixel xD

if i remember correctly
this was related to what card u select and its options
so did u follow my settings?

Yes i did all the settings that you have.
Game only works when i use 640x480.
when im using a higher resolution i cant use my cursor in the menu
Found the problem!!
i had to put the directx settings in unforced and only the glide settings in 1920x1080

well to tell u the truth since u put only glide.dlls in main game folder and launch game with -glide it would be logical that directx tab does not matter
well whatever good its working for u
Cpugrabbers are no longer necessary when there is a 25 fps patch that you can apply to the program. Also, I wouldn`t run glide any higher than 1024 x 768 resolution since it kind of bugs the game out at least for me.

For people out there that are saying that GOG is being unethical releasing this, I just want to add that I got this game running on Windows 7 back in the day, when GOG didn't even exist yet...
And I never, NEVER ever needed to use any cpu grabber to make the game work correctly.
...
Now, one thing that happened to me once and might apply to you: try restarting your computer. I know it sounds dumb but happened to me. For some reason, the CPU gets tied with the executable in weird ways (even patched) and restarting the computer releases those ties

That is correct. Even after you get the game up and running with the guide I wrote, the game may act weird such as rarely you cant press any button on the main menu or the game slowing down with the wobbly wheels issue on AI returning. If this does happen, just restart your computer and the problem is solved. Reinstalling your game quickly will not make this issue go away.

Cpugrabber is no longer necessary if SOMEONE want to play with 25 fps

i prefer to play with smooth 60 fps

btw with Cpugrabber problems with game physics does not occur anymore so using Cpugrabber prevents any need for restarting pc to fix something
----------------------------------------
i think resolution issues are related to windows version + graphic card someone is using
in my case i get kicked back to windows when launching a mission but its so rare i dont care

i think i prefer to get crashes and experience less pixelated game
---------------------------------------

in the end everyone should suit them self i dont care which method is better all i care is that we can experience this game again

btw im zerozx4 i was just too lazy to look for pass to my account so i logged in with different one
It's not a question of "me want 60 fps Mommyyyyyyy!!!!!"
No...

You have two options:
i76.exe -glide = Glide Renderer = gives you 60 FPS no matter what (and it was the only version that worked correctly before the "20 FPS Patch" came around)

i76.exe = Software Renderer = the game was conceived and designed to run at no more than 25 FPS. The patch simply updates the EXE to understand the way modern CPU's do timings.

There's no such thing as "I want to play the software version in 60 FPS"

To some people (like me) the Glide version doesn't look as good as the stock Software version, there's a certain charm to it.

The same people complaining about FPS in a game are the people who pay theater tickets to watch a movie in 23.97 FPS
