Hey all,

Managed to get this working recently on my Win7 rig. My only issue is that the music from whatever mission I was just on continues to play over the cutscenes upon completion, making the audio difficult to hear. Even worse, at times, the cutscenes will have their own native music, so when the mission music plays on top of it, you get a dissonant chorus of noise.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Explanation: The original CD version never had this problem. This was because when you get to a movie the music stops (red book audio, to be exact) so the actual movie could run. That is how CD-ROM drives back then, they can't stream two things at once. Because of this the original developers did not code in something that does make the music stop while movies are playing. The CD-ROM drives already did their work for them. However, as a side effect, digital releases with WAV\MP3 music instead of CD audio music suffers, since music plays during cutscenes, thanks to hard drives and RAM letting you do more than one thing at once.

The only way to fix this problem is by buying the CD version.

Really? I haven't seen this issue mentioned before on GOG. Is it really an unavoidable problem in the GOG version?

Yup. Unless GOG digs into the original game code, you can't avoid the problem.
