This game is THE car combat game. For anyone who has played Twisted Metal this game is even better. It has a really awesome gameplay, a great soundtrack and a groovy plot. However this game is not properly compatible with modern systems! There are tons of bugs which the community has had to fix! This wasn't really what I hoped from GoG and seriously damages their reputation for games that work on modern PC's. I was considering gifting this game to my friends but I can't really give them a game in this state. The game is easily 5 stars but minus 3 stars for the trouble trying to get the game to work properly! :P

I've bought a few games on GoG.com that I already own solely because the ease of a DRM-free, packaged EXE installer w/all patches was worth a few bucks. I was eager to do the same for Interstate '76 as getting it to run on Win 7 is a PitA. However, seems like GoG.com fucked the dog with this release; I hope this doesn't become a trend.
Hell, why hasn't GoG taken the Community fixes and packaged them into the EXE? What gives? Where's the support?

Well even with the community fixies the game still really doesn't work perfectly...
I do agree though, it is very annoying. However I haven't bought anything else which GoG has screwed up badly on.

That's my experience, too. Every single other game I've purchased has been a solid, painless experience to get running on Win7 and Vista. That's around two dozen games!
I think that's why this release is such a bitter pill. I haven't eagerly anticipated a GoG release before, but for I'76 I definitely had some anticipation building. This was caused by GoG's incredible track record of polishing up old builds for release on new machines, something which is a total PitA to do for I'76. Yet they fucked it up!
This is one of the first games I have bought from GoG. I'm afraid it has put off buying any more.
The game does not run (for me) on any of the (4) systems I have tried it on and I see no sign of any moves to fix it.
Pity.
