Ok i had win7 on my pc but couldnt get interstate 76 to work, now i reformatted my drive and put on xp cause i was desperate to play i76 again..... i tried the glide wrappers but they appeared to have messed up my windows 7.
now after i installed xp i got the game to work software and d3d at 800x600 then i downloaded the gold edition pack and the game was a mess.... after tweaking and using the wrappers the game started to work perfectly.
i used DgVoodoo which was the bomb had no problems.. then i tried Zeckensack wrappers but they never worked and this is what messed up win7 and now i tried them again and didnt work. I then reverted back to DGvoodoo and wanted to fix nitro and sort out the problem with the flamethrowers and morters so i used cpu grab which didnt work, used throttle pc which worked but for the flamers to work my pc had to run at 95% slower... which still using the full settings for DGVooddoo.
the flamers worked but the game was running far to slow and choppy. so i cancelled cpu throttle and reverted to trying using old graphic drivers....
after installing it my card just went downhill, the drivers hardly installed and the catalyst control panel i then went back to the new drivers that i was using before and same problem occured... i also noticed i got a virus from getting DGvoodoo sites. once i was look at my system... so then i went back to installing windows7...
after windows 7 is installed the 1st time round it has to do its reset windows finalizing goes along it does some drivers checking and boom black screen and my hd screen says "unable to fiind detection". i feel i am forced to buy a new 3dcard which i am hoping is the problem.
any clues to my problem? if not then i thought i should just bring this to every1's attention just incase.
My specs are roughly
Duo Core 2, 2.5ghz
4gb DDR ram
ATI Raedon 4670 HD HIS card
i used full settings running at 1920x1080 i believe, with anti 8x and aa 16x with the recommended ticks for DGvoodoo... i had to us 8x and aa 16x for my graphics controll panel to prevent the game from wobbling wheels and slow driving.
its a great game its my favourite but if this is the cause to a damaged 3dcard i am gonna have to bury this game as i dont wanna damage my next card which will be a GT250 256bit 1gb... sad cause i loved this game it was my favourite ever..
Activision need to get their s**t together and revamp this game for todays specs with online game or create a new one... mmo more or less and have the ability to choose to be a Vigilante or a Creeper.. with online gaming community the game would be a big success then its bad sales back in the 90's.....
