Hi!

I remember Inscryption was announced for Linux, when it was in "Upcoming games", but now it's released, and it's Windows-only.

Was the Linux version canceled?
The game looks pretty interesting, I would likely buy it if it had a Linux version.
Same here, also wishlisted the game because it looked neat and supported linux :)
I agree, a proper Linux release would be great, this sounds like a great game, just the sort of thing I'd love. I'll hold off buying until the Linux release.

There's a thread on the Steam forums which suggests that a Linux port is likely to come later, as it was planned but there were some platform specific bugs found near release day which meant it couldn't be released for Linux at launch. Let's hope that's true, and that we get a Linux version soon.

It runs fine on wine, i have debian bullseye, had to add the wine repo to get the newest version (important: do all this in chroot to avoid screwing up your system), then a couple more fixes, like adding the repository signature; had to install pulseaudio and apulse, and also... i think... i386 architecture (one of the error codes told me to. if something else is missing, just do what they tell you).

Now a better question would be: why would anyone want to play this POS... It's a dull, highly-randomized deckbuilder with very mild horror elements, and the plot is basically over after the tutorial.

Just to support the request, the Native Linux version also interests me.
Yeah, I hope this happens too, it looks like Daniel Mullins released his other games for Linux, so hopefully this will come.

For the record, it's working perfectly for me with wine on Debian Bullseye, v5.0.3, and I think it's fantastic so far, a few hours in. A native Linux version would of course be better, so fingers crossed a build comes out soon.
I just saw there's a post on this game's steam page announcing they're doing a beta for Linux and Mac versions there now, so they'll hopefully release that here too once it's ready :)
The game is now officialy out on Linux and macOS.
Waiting for it.

Can't wait! The 1.10 version in the Downloads page is called "1.10 Win", which the earlier versions weren't, so hopefully that's more evidence that the Linux (& Mac) release is on the way on GOG. The News entry on Steam about the 1.10 release is mostly about the official release of the Linux & Mac versions, so yes, I do hope it comes here soon!
the game worked fine for me on Ubuntu with a default installer from lutris (wine). No need for adjustments in the settings. I am just telling this for the people who doesnt want to wait for a native Linux build.

i just saw, it already has the 1.10 build for Linux - everyone enjoy ^^

Yes, I saw that on gogdb, finally good news!
Has anyone been able to get past the initial tutorial on Linux? After the first battle I get a snippet of dialog (something along the lines of "let me remember your story"), then the camera focuses on the table and then nothing else happens.

There are still particles flying through the air and the menu can be opened with escape so the application itself isn't frozen but it seems that somehow the game logic is stuck.

Anyone else experiencing this?
