I'm hoping to create a page for people to post secrets and other exploits they have found in this game.
I'll will start with my post.
a tip for experience, which can be lame or can be very helpful is to kill your own companion and resurrect him for experience. it might sound dumb to some people but you can get up to 165+ experience points each time. with the dog companion or soldier companion you can command them to attack your paladin or thief companion after they die you get 165 experience (or at least i do you might get more or less) then you can easily resurrect them
I haven't really found anything like that, but I'd warn against using your idea for any length of time. You'll create a widening gap of experience between you and whichever companion your killing. I suppose you could alternate between killing two different companions to lessen the gap between your companions but they'll still be getting a fraction of the experience you do. Of course I'm assuming dead companions don't get xp. I could be wrong about that as we can't see their actual xp. At any rate it would be something you'd have to test at lower levels... and then I would wonder why not save yourself the trouble and just use the console cheats if you want to in fact cheat the system?

Not trying to rain on your parade mind you.

In order to get this companion you need to be a thief, you become a Baron and you get the small mining village of Asherbeit or whatever it's called. there you can recruit a soldier melee or ranged combat.

I already considered that, and unfortunately the only option is to attack the removable companions (removable by telling them to go away) which is either the paladin or thief, and the experience gap isn't a big deal, for one these are the companions you can replace with better companions in the future the like the paladin i had replaced with a better paladin
are there any console cheats?? lol

i saw that screenshot too. and i am in act 2 so your farther than i am, the soldier is a special companion only given to the thief baron, so your out of luck there, hopefully in act 3 you'll be able to get a priest companion to heal you, that'd be nice

Console cheats - http://www.gog.com/en/forum/inquisitor/cheats_available/post3

I suppose juggling companions as a thief isn't bad since we can have three. I chose the archer for my third and he is pretty useless. Often times he'll end up in melee range and die in two seconds. He starts out lower level as well. I think mine is around 3 to 4 levels behind now.

we're in the same boat with that, honestly all the companions are pretty crappy i can't rely on them for much i usually have them stay in a spot lure out the enemy and deal the most damage
they mainly just get in the way and die, plus they use all your potions but they're there to take damage lol
dude thanks for the cheats i really don't want to mess with my game but it won't hurt to boost my skills and attributes a bit, i already have 65k without cheats
now since i discovered the cheat commands this page doesn't matter lol

Yup, they're nothing but meat shields. As far as potions go I started organizing my potions in order of least effective to most effective so that they'd use up the crap potions first, but I noticed that the total amount a potion restores doesn't seem to change between levels.. only how fast they regen it. So I don't really bother any more. Though I do keep some bad potions at the end of my pack to do ooc fill ups of health/mana.

hmm i never considered potion order since i always buy the default quantity ones from the shops,
It actually might be more important if you were a priest and make your own potion combo's as I'm pretty sure the AI companions will even use those if they restore health or stamina. I have my combo potions located after all my health and stamina potions but there has been a couple times I've run out and noticed some holes in my stock of combo potions.

Yeah I pretty much stock up on the shop potions as well but I tend to put them at the front of my bags. I'm just not as anal as I was being. Of course if you're fighting a boss of some sort you might want to actually put your best potions in the front of your inventory instead.. unless you don't mind battle rezzing :P

i saw a note on the loading screen that said when you become a curial inquisitor i think it was, you get one other inquisitor to help you,i'm sure it means you get them as a companion
well, that can be not earlier than in act 3.
