Hey, I just finished the quest where I am supposed to find Scott de Ormand's companion. I killed all the trolls and found his dying comrade.
Now I leave the cave just find Scott de Ormand killed by ogres :( He was still alive before I entered the cave but I of course I saved my game in the meantime.

Does it matter for further gameplay?

Hmm, that probably shouldn't have happened. You can try to revive him using this console command:
\addbeing_afriend Ardrieaux -1 -1

The numbers -1 -1 revive him at your current position.

To open the console press the ~ (tilde) key. A ">" prompt will appear near the top left of the screen and you can type in the command.
