Quick tests shows that yes, this can extract there are issues with the "reimport" (file sizes need to be smaller than the export and sometimes they can be larger when simply importing/exporting) but the script is documentation of format which could lead to pure executable if someone wanted to take the time.
Datafiles are stored in xml format (though often with txt extension or even other random extensions).
