First time when I succeeded it went a lot better. I actually was able to trick Herbertius when I walked north instead of south and then I just ran into his lair, opened the floor with his heart and destroyed it. Ran out and turned, pulled 3 arrows and he died. I haven't felt that good about killing a hard enemy since a few years back.
