I started my game as a Priest, so far enjoyed it despite rough beginning (no offensive spells in my spellbook, only seals). Found a bunch of unidentified object I need to either pay shopkeepers (won't like that idea due prices) or use my Identify skill (starting Priest skill) but it doesn't work. At lvl4-5 my Identify skill is somewhere around 7, which should be enough to raise it's degree if not character lvl requirement.
Then I found that Inquisitorial Magic have "Sixth Sense" spell that identify object which work better than skill.
My question is - what's the point if only one of them work? Are there any actual differences that I'm not aware? Because this skill feels usuless for now. Maybe some use later (strange really rare relic identification? Quests?)
Investing into the Identification skill is a waste of points because it is broken and doesn't work correctly (and it won't be fixed, sadly). On the other hand, a single point invested into the Inquisitorial Magic is all you need for the Sixth Sense spell to identify all items there are in the game.
Thank you for clarification.

Today, I raised my character's identification skill to 6 and intelligence to 15 to get the disciple just to test the skill and all of the unidentified arrows in my inventory automatically became identified. All of the scrolls remained unidentified so I'm guessing they require journeyman or master in the skill.

Edit: Scrolls DO get identified as well for disciple in identification. With enough equipment that gives +1 to non-magical skills, it might be worth put a couple points into identification just to become a disciple and be able to identify arrows and scrolls and save a lot of time, money, and/or mana.
