I restarted the game after reading the hints here and this time it was really easier, even on hard.
I admire the patience (or luck) of those who went for the +15 all yellow boots. I have tried the speak-indentify-reload sequence for about two hours and finally the best drop was a +11 all with 4x15% res and another effect resistance - I decided I can live with it at lvl 9. :) (It's not discussed whether is there a chance to have better stats on a higher level, so I waited a little.)
I used a slightly different tactics till now than the above mentioned. In atributes I went for INT mostly and have 20 on Speed. I pumped up Miracle and Wisdom in a 2:1 ratio and used almost exclusively the Bless and the Elementary damage buffs on Dog and Pinky, and while they were fighting I used Mana Regen to recast those spells on them when they wore out. In this way I very rarely used potions, about 2-3 health during reaching a level and maybe 1-1 mana and stamina on me if suddenly a big crowd appeared around them.
Except the boots all my items are with +STA regen with some minor skill bonuses. Nothing fancy, just what I was able to buy, one ring slot is empty yet. With the boots extra points I have 130 STA and 295 mana and with 6pt on Mana regen one casting worth about 40 Mana from cc. 100 STA, relatively quickly. At least quickly enough to have enough mana before the buffs wear out.
I have done only the two cemeteries, the first phase of the executioner's quest and Jullian yet, because the enemies were slow there and I could conveniently stand behind my party to buff them and waiting my STA to regen.
One question about the extra skill points. Can the stats go up above 20 with them? Or if I invested 20 on one of them and have +skill item, that extra point isn't counted by the engine?
