What are the possible rewards for freeing the Djinn from magical boxes? I have read they grant free stat or skill points, but when I tried I got a weapon.

It is random. If you load your position just before you have broken the Magical Box, and free the genie again, you may get a different reward. Possible rewards are 500 gp, an item, 1 attribute point, or 1 skill point.
