So pretty much all the stats themselves are straight-forward but I have one query regarding Dexterity. It says it increases "Attack by 1" each point you put into dexterity. Mainly I'm curious if "Attack" is the same as "Melee Damage" as strength gives an increase in "Melee Damage". Or is Attack the speed at which your character swings? I read through the manual + searched the forms but I didn't really find something. Sorry if this is plainly obvious. My assumption is that it does increase your swinging speed but I'd like some clarification, thanks.
Well... this looks like another "cryptic" thing in Inquisitor to me. After searching through the "gaming rules" document I have at my disposal, it seems that Attack = base Chance to hit. There is an equation for the base Chance to hit that involves Dexterity, Chance to hit value of the equipped weapon and a skill influence (I suppose that Melee Damage skill for melee weapons and Ranged Combat skill for ranged weapons). The skill influence is based on the mastery level in that skill (Apprentice level increases Chance to hit value of the weapon, Disciple level increases Damage value of the weapon as well, Journeyman level directly influences base Chance to hit (i.e. Attack) of the character as well, and Master level directly influences Damage value of the character and reduces the wear and tear of the equipped weapon as well. I hope that helps a bit.
