michael.ch: where is the leader of the cult?
He'll find you during the course of another quest that you do for the head alchemist guy.
the alchemist in alvaron doesn't give me any quests.
Second floor of the alchemists guild.

The quest is epic, I actually laughed out loud when it ended :)

The guy on the main floor doesn't. Go upstairs. c;
It was probably the best one in the game.

"Blahblahblah ancient prophecy...blahblah"

:D
i was rather disappointed - why would anyone write his shopping list backwards? and on a scroll? seems a total waste of parchment which should have been quite expensive at the time.

You don't have to be so logical about it. While people like to dream of ancient aliens and shit the earliest writings we have from those ancient cultures are mostly inventories and credit details, which are as trivial as shopping lists, so they were poking fun at that.
it's not that i stay up wake at night thinking why something like that isn't supposed to happen, it just strikes me right away that there's a flaw in their logic - inventories and credit details are not quite as trivial, because they are legal documents and they also serve the overview of the business so its more like a security investment
