Giving it a go now, what struck me right away was the bad character animation... He doesn't move smoothly when changing direction, feel like i'm using a dpad on a controller!. It should be smooth circluar when moving in circles via the mouse....

Compare divine divinity and this game and you'll see what i mean
You are in for a trip then, wait till you get Confusion on you, you'll wanna cry.
Agreed. It looks like my character is dancing rather than walking normally.

Exactly! :D

@PirateNeilsouth
Dont worry you will get used to the movement animation. My bow wielding thief in a heavy armour looked absolutely ridiculous walking around.

Developers had to resort to this level of animation because they wanted to render all combinations of items on all playable characters which resulted in hundreds of thousands of files even at this level. To make the animations smoot
her would require hundreds of additional megabytes (or possibly gigabytes) of data which was something unacceptable at the time the animations were done. And now it is too late to do something about that because it would be necessary to re-render all animations again:-) I believe you will get used to it soon.

That's just disappointing to hear. I'm currently playing Divine Divinity and can't help but to compare this two game.

Well at first, during production, we ran into the same issue with Divine Divinity.

We ended up rendering the characters in more directions so that it would look smooth. That does mean that DivDiv probably has less possible combinations of equipment and weapons, or at least that certain equipment and weapons just look the same on the avatar.

I do agree however, that the walking animation of the main character is not well done in Inquisitor. But after playing for five minutes, it didn't bother me anymore.
