I lost lots of already attributed skillpoints ie my ranged combat went from 11 to 3... Is it a bug? of is it intentionnal?

Didn't you get debuffed by a spell or something? Try going to a church and ask for healing (ask for it, trough dialogue)

Hm, strange. it seemed to me that I have lost some points too, one point each in armor and meele combat, if i remember correctly. Didn't investigate on the matter, I thought that i forgot to save or something. Did it happen to anybody else?

Not that I noticed. Wasn't herby a vampire? In other games vampires drain stats... but I've never seen them drain skills persay. I'd say bug. Did you have any skill enhancing gear on at the time that got broken during the battle? Just guessing at where the bug might be. Perhaps the loss of a gear based skill bonus turned into a perm loss due to some quirk in the level up code? lol.

Regrettably I didn't investigate it when it happened, and I don't remember what gear I had at the moment. I think it's possible that i had some strength enchancing gear at that time, so maybe leveling skills with that kind of gear on your character, and then loosing it may lead to lose of points, but that's just a theory

Lost a point in the Thief skill.

there are AI that cause permanent loss of attributes.. not sure about skills though

yup, I know the combat log is really small (haven't found a way to make it bigger myself), but in some fights, you'll notice that you are getting a PERMANENT loss in a stat, or skill.
which really sucks. but then again, you can buy some stat pots at the wise lady in hillsbrant, or if you're really upset about all that, use the console to get it back.

The log tells you stuff like that? I guess I never noticed with all the potion spam and such. Hmmm...

I lost a point in every skill where I had put points. That was 10 skill points. How do you use the console, that loss is NOT acceptable.

You people worry too much, I'm sure later in game you won't know what to do with all those points :P Or is it only me that finishes games with plenty of unassigned points? :D I have finished DX:HR with like 20, added them to random skills just before boss fight.

stat points sure, but skill points ? not really.
there is already a topic here about cheats corwin, just look for it :)

and yeah the log tells you that.
And if you think that potion spam is bad, try the "you cannot recast a spell for 0.4 second" spam. Yeah, every time you right click during the recharge phase, there is a line :p and as a priest using lightning, I just chain click :p

permanent?? all my skills are reset to 1 after the fight!! wtf
