The game won't go past the Industry Giant 2 splash screen. It is displayed for a while and then a dialog appears stating that the game stopped working. I investigated that issue and found that the same problem was discussed in the Steam Forums in August 2015 where the compatibility mode was suggested, wich indeed seemed to resolve the issue for some, but sadly not for me. Then the developer stated in that same topic that they are going to look into that issue. Later they seemingly released a patch that resolved the problem. But again only for some people. And then the topic was abandoned. So anyone here who has some idea? I'am running a 64 Bit Windows 8.1 with an ATI R9 270X with the latest final drivers.

I also had issues with running this game. My computer is hp probook 450 G1 with i7 processor and amd radeon HD 8750 graphic card ( also intel HD card ) with Windows 8.1 system. My problem was that when i start the game my monitor turned black and could stay that way quite a long time. I resolved this problem by running game with compatibility to Windows XP service pack 3, changing all settings of my amd graphic card to lowest (by using catalyst control center) and by turning off HIPS in my COMODO antivir. After this changes game is running. It is a little bit sluggish but I think it is normal for it. Hope this will help for anyone.

The game do not work tried to fix it with GOG instructions... but nothing.

I'm also having issues starting my game. The exe stops responding immediately after the UIG intro.
I'm trying to run the game on Win 7 64-Bit. Have yet to find a solution to even make it to the menu.

Just started it up and no problem on W8.1 with R9 270X. (not running on the latest version :P )

Win 7 has this DAC, (or whatever it is called) which prevents programs/games from running. Kind of a virus protecting IIRC. check for this.

as rafsze indicated it might be also your antivirus-program.

Out of starting what I can tell you it changes resolution. unfortunate you can only specify the resolution ingame. If you tell me your monitor-settings I could provide you with a ig2_options.cfg matching your requirements. (upto 1920 x 1080/60HZ).

Might solve your problem as well.

Further: Try downgrading your videocarddriver. Recently another user had the problem that the so called newest driver for W7 was actually an older one that he used before.

Sometimes older drivers do work better with older games ;) Best example is, even as it is mentioned on the store page directx8.1 (yes works with 9.0c) but do you know how many people do NOT know that dx10+ does not have dx9 included? (and yes quit often this is just the problem)

I do agree that sometimes the support could be better, put unfortunate if they can NOT reproduce your problem, what do you expect them to do?

And I must admit I only came into this forum to check if fellow goggers might have had some links for extra maps or similar ;)

Also is anyone of you using non-latin characters? (ex. èÖâ in the game path)
Did you try installing it in anything BUT program files? (especially true for W7)
