Windows 7 Home P, 3.2Ghz, 8Gb RAM, Nvidia 675
Hello All,
I was experiencing some launch problems with Infernal Machine. When trying to start the game, it would load to a black screen with a busy cursor and remain stuck until I forced the program to end.
I read several threads with similar issues on this site and others; I saw various verified solutions that suggested enabling Direct Play. After 3 hours I was unable to make any headway on Direct Play, as did some others. (Your version of Windows may be lacking the option to enable it through Control Panel.)
Just as I was about to give up, I decided on a reinstall and a trivial troubleshoot that wound up working.
During setup I changed the install directory to Program Files (x86). That's it.
I'm unsure if it will address all the troubleshooting I've seen posted about IM, but I hope it can help!
