I just unplugged the extra power cord needed for the force feedback and the stick works great for flying. The shakings are so illogical anyway, more like as if you are flying an airplane.

Hi, like I said, I do like the force feedback effects (hits and firing). I just hate the jitter on this one occasion (moving past 750 kps+ cockpit on) and I love cockpits. The one in EOC very well shows the movement/acceleration of a ship. I do have another joystick without FF to use with EOC. The game turns on this stupid movement jitter FF effect only when you are in cockpit view and moving past 750kps. All other views don't have that. I would like to find a way to turn off just this one FF effect (movement+cockpit) and leave all the others as they are.

I dimly remember something about building your own setting profiles for games for the joystick but certainly cannot remember how that was done. I am not at home this week and cannot test and try myself. I would not be surprised if that only works on Windows 98 --> Windows XP though.

No problem with that as I have both: modern systems and WindowsXp on my computer.
So you are saying there might be a way to turn off just this one effect?

You have no idea how happy it would make me :)

Mind you, it has been fifteen years since the game came out and I looked into these things. I bought my joystick for this game.
