Hi there. I have a big problem with this mission, I can't for my life destory the carrier. I know this sounds dumb but how am I supposed to do this? None of my laser hits makes more damage than 1 or 2. Missiles do nothing either, most are absorbed by its ridiculously strong shields. Even when I move into position right where it's thrusters are supposed to be, a vulnurable point for most capital ships according to the manual, I don't seem to do any damage even though I hear a crashing sound from my lasers hitting the ship. Do I even have to destroy it? If not, how do I end the mission properly?

How exactly do you eject the antimatter pod? I haven't found the key for that in the manual.

Select "AM injector" on the engineering console. There is a check box near the graphs that turns on the injector. When on it boosts power quite a bit. The downsides are that it has a limited antimatter reserve and that your ship runs very hot: any damage to cooling systems is likely to be fatal.
Ok, I won even without the IM injector, however in a somewhat retarded way. As I said something's wrong whith the carrier's hitbox OR the rapid (manual) fire mode. Getting behind it doesn't do anything, it seems like my lasers should hit the thrusters but there is no visual indication, however I do hear a crushing sound and not the "thump" sound when I hit shields. But the carrier shows no damage points.

By accident I noticed that when I get in front of the ship about 4 km, turn on F9 approximation autopolit, and then spin my ship around in WEP like crazy I do score some hits now and then. I tried a bit more and noticed that I do damage when the twin lasers are fired both, this only happens when the carrier is exactly in the front or aft position of my ship. However this does only work once, when I stop spinning no more damage will happen. So I kept spinning around and did only hit the fire button when I'm in above position. That way I finally managed to beat it. Well...somehow I don't think this was the intendet way, but whatever.

Same problem, and when I finally got the carrier to 51% damage, it launched more fighters. Since I was stationary relative to the carrier, they destroyed me almost instantly.
Say, does anybody know if this gets better when you resolve the framerate problems which so often lead to shots not dealing damage?
