I keep trying to refine my technique as I try again and again, but at some point I suspect I'm going to have to give up or just get very lucky. Is this a particularly difficult mission? Do I just suck?

Serious questions, these. Also, what prep can I do to speed up the autopilot docking procedure?


Edit: Well, just pulled it off. I got myself pretty close to the dock before things got too hairy, and I still only barely made it out alive. My wingmen were caught in the blast. They gave their NPC lives for the good of the many.

Boost your engines with CTRL+left arrow.

Stay close to the station (not too close or the AP will take more time to dock)

LDS away as soon as you can.
