In the mission that takes us to Coyote system in search for allies, I am pointed to Jackson's Yard in order to talk to militia leader. The problem is that when I get to the station, it is attacked roughly every 30 seconds by groups of Marauders. I can repel their attacks without problems... until I dock, that is. After docking a dialogue starts which lasts long enough for next Marauder group to jump in and "concentrate all their fire on this tug". I cannot undock and defend myself until the dialogue ends, so I end up destroyed every time.

I'm stuck. What am I doing wrong?

Once the dialog starts, press DEL to skip past the audio portion for each individual bit of dialog. It'll show the text quickly and you won't have to so long wait for each person to finish talking. This should get you through the complete dialog within a few seconds. You could also try putting max power to your shields temporarily (SHIFT-right arrow). (SHIFT-up arrow) puts it back to balanced power once you undock.
