Guys, maybe it's me but I get to the first fight and it's like 10 sec till I'm killed. I can't seem to get turned to them before I'm dead. Has anyone survived the first fight at the station?

Get used to using the thrust override keys (wsad) to put some distance between you and attackers. After that, focus on keeping enemies in front of your ship to minimize damage and try to get behind them.

This was a bit of a mistake by the dev team, as there was no training for the lateral and thruster overrides, which are the key to combat.
That's especially true in space station control zones which enforce a speed limit that you can only break by using the overrides. If you stick to the limit when you're in combat you don't stand a chance.
