In additition to the other problem
http://www.gog.com/en/forum/independence_war_series/i_war_2_instant_action_crashing
They game freezes for a moment EVERY second which makes the game already unplayable. Parts of the game (HUD, background and more) randomly turn black and normal again. Any idea?
I'm on Win 7 64bit, Q9550, Geforce GTX 260, all the latest drivers. I'm now experimenting with the graphics settings.
Edit: On highest and default settings I get these problems. On default there not as bad as on highest (no parts blacking out) but still heavy (stuttering).

Hi There
I got the freezing every fewseconds on the retail version.
The game does' not like running in a multicore system.
If you Launch the game and then from the menu hit control-alt-delete and go into task manager you can set the program to run in one core.
Find the process for the game , cant remmeber what it is, right click and choose set affinity. Then select a single core close the task manager and go back to the game.
Hope this solves the problem.
Mike
Absolutely solved my issue, thanks IceKoolDutton!

Is there any way to set EoC to always automagically launch with preferential core like this? I snooped around in the Compatibility Mode settings but couldn't find anything.

That site has an command line executable and instructions to permanently set a program to use only one core.

Any other program that does this since I can't seem to run it it opens then closes.
You have to run it at the command prompt, you can't just double click it. The instructions for using it are on the link I supplied.

For anybody else reading this IMagecfg can't read riles with spaces in them like "Independence war" the file name needs to be independencewar

thanks forgot about that bit. Got the program to run but the game was still not responding ingame.

But I fixed that so far with a resolution change.
