Hi guys, I'm stuck on the part where I'm told to autodock after auto approaching and auto formating with the instructor. As told, I press ESC to cancel auto formate, which works, but when I'm told to press F8 to autodock, nothing seems to happen. Is this a glitch or did i miss something? Thanks.

You must mean Nav Advanced, Nav Basic is just flying through rings within a time limit.

I suggest you go to the Nav station and click the dock autopilot button if the shortcut key doesn't work.

Also sometimes auto-dock can take awhile depending on where you are and what speed you're moving at relative to the object - although with that scenario it shouldn't have taken very long. Go to the Nav Station and hit F8 and see if the icon for auto-dock lights up, if it doesn't, simply press the auto-dock icon. You also shouldn't be in control of the craft anymore.

Thanks for the help guys. Unfortunately I didn't get to see if going to the nav station would fix the problem. I pressed the shortcut key again, but this time around it worked instantly. I'll launch the mission from time to time to see if the glitch happens again so I can try the nav station workaround.

It might be you didn't have the ship targeted properly. Just having it selected in your contact list won't work, you have to designate it as a target too.
