I can't even get passed the 1st phase of the 1st mission, and what exactly is the point of that phase? Am I in a chopper or a turret or a tank? Do I just keep blasting or am I supposed to be going somewhere? Anyone?

EDIT
Okay I was playing the Arcade setting not the Mission setting so that explains that. However since I'm on the subject, what is the point of the Arcade setting? just keep blasting till I die?

er basically yes.
i recommend a cheapy joystick for enjoyment, oh your looking at one, never mind.
though it still feels odd changing from one to the other as control scheme is different when you do, but still barrels of fun!
