I just can't get the controls on the game to work which is maddening because it seems to load perfectly.

Firstly the game inverts the Y axis which I can't change on the settings menu. I COULD reverse it for the keyboard but keyboard just isn't accurate and fast enough for this game. The joystick on my X-Box for PC controller works perfectly - save there are no working fire buttons. My last computer with a joystick was bought in 1999 (with this game LOL) and its connection isn't compatible with my modern tower.

Did anybody solve the controller problems on this game ?
