Does this game support gamepads/controllers natively?

Yep, just plugged in my old logitech wingman gamepad and it worked a treat. It didn't have many buttons mapped but I did install the thing just before I loaded the game and it was detected as a generic NT joystick, if I'd set it up properly it'd likely have worked rom the start. The controller buttons can be mapped as normal though so you should have no problems setting it up how you like.
Might end up using the controller myself actually now that it's installed

I should probably add that it also detected my RumblePad as generic NT Joystick and would not allow me to use more than the first four buttons... which means no shoulder buttons for running.
In the end, I resorted to using the keyboard again, as I wasn't able to use the gamepad exclusively because there are a lot more actions than usable buttons.

Really? That is rather a surprise, had you set up any device specific drivers or just the plug & play windows ones?

Just standard Windows drivers... never really had any reason to install anything else, especially considering all the usual crap that comes with Logitech drivers,
I've got the same problem, 4 buttons.
I'll try installing the official Logitech drivers, though I don't see why this would make a difference.
edit: I used to have a logitech wheel, and I forgot about the profiler software(part of the drivers). Basically, per game, you can make the buttons of a controller actually signal as though pressing a keyboard. So I can set button 1 as space bar, for example.
Works well.
