I only just bought this game and when i run it after install none of the charectors ingame appear, only the background and subtitles.
Im using Windows Vista 64Bit

Hmm, I'm using V64 myself and there's no problems. In the video options there's a semi-transparency option, you might try turning that off. Any difference if you use compatibility mode?
What video card do you have? Have you updated the drivers any time recently?

OK here are a couple of suggestions:
Try running the game in 32 bit mode. You should be able to set this within the Compatibility mode.
Put the actual .exe file to run as administrator.
DO you have an LCD monitor? It might help to tick the box labeled "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings".
Tick the box marked "Disable visual themes" and the one marked "Disable desktop composition."
Try to run the game.
Try those suggestions first. If that doesn't work, you may want to try disabling 3 out of the 4 cores on your processor. This is not permanent. It just disables them while the game is running and only for the game.
To disable the cores:
Start the game.
Alt-Tab out of it.
Start up Task Manager and find the In Cold Blood process.
Right-click on it and look for the menu item labeled "Affinity"
You should see a menu box with each core having a little selector box with a check in it. disable 3 out of 4 and see how the game runs.

Newest Nvidia drivers (GeForce Driver Release 181) were released on January 22, have you tried with those?

By the way, your sound drivers are a bit old too. It won't help any but I figured you may or may not want to know.

How old is your DirectX 10?? There is a new DirectX 10 package dated November 2008. Maybe that might help. Grasping at straws here...

Try disabling Nview on your Nvidia card??

How do i change Nview?

DO you see an NVidia icon on your taskbar in the lower right hand corner??
Right click on it and see if it shows an Nview selection and try disabling it from there...

I dont have Nview.
