Hello

I just started Imperialism 1 for the first time and accidentally told the game to switch the general resolution to he game resolution when starting up.
How can I undo this? It is really annoying!
Unistalling and installing again did not help...:(.

I had the same issue and fixed when restoring the PC to a previous point and then installing the game another time.

I'm sure there has to be an easier solution but didn't find out.

Edit: you can change it going to Game Control (top-right of the screen) - Set preferences: and disabling game resolution when starting the game.

You can select this in the preferences screen accessible from the startup screen.
