The manual mentions "anchoring" and "docked" several times, but it doesn't indicate how to anchor or dock a vessel in a friendly port. It says, "Any ship docked at your capital and fully repaired is used to escort merchants during that turn."

How do you anchor or dock a ship? Can ships only be anchored or docked if your country is at war with another Major Country? Am I missing something?

Also, how much escort protection would, say, a frigate or a raider provide during a turn?

Thanks for your help.

Hello,

It is very simple:

- Make sure your ship is in the same area as the port.

- That you didn't give this ship an order.

- Click on the port, a cursor with an anchor will appear

It should be noted that when the ship is created and appears in the port area, it must first be ordered to sail somewhere, and in the following turns to return it to port, so that the "anchor" cursor will appear.

For the other questions, I imagine it is possible to dock in an allied port (but I have never tested).

I hope I helped you.
