tadee84: I had the same problem with both Imperialism games.
The solution for me on Win 11 was to turn off DEP (Data Execution Prevention) in System Settings > Performance.
My previous solution was to run these games on Linux with the "wine" tool, that works too.
Interestingly, on Win11 only the DEP turned off solved the problem, no compatibility option had any impact on the issue.
Hello tadee84 !! Thanks for your advice !! I changed the DEP setting as recommended and it worked !! Imperalism 1 runs again. :-) My previous DEP setting with an "exemption" for Imperalism 1 obviously was not sufficient. :-( But I still have the "no music bug". :-( I wiill check the forum, if someone has a working advice for the issue that the music doesn't play.
