I have already told everything i think about it in my review. It seems i can't edit it and add more. I can't understand why should my army always start in the corner of the map even if i have already conquered that region and now others are attacking me. I have run to that f**ing objective point and fight in bad positions.
Controls in this game are awful awful awful. Often troops are not doing what they should. Instead of shooting to enemy cavalry engaged in fight with my militia, their charge to them, or even get stack between charging and shooting animations. Cavalry is extremely owerpowered like militia is.
I want my money back..

More over, what the hell is happening after you attack a square formation. You loose control over your troops for minute or more and they flee into the corners of the map. And this doesnt happen in any other situation. C'mon, does it have to be so horrible to attack square? And how should i attack if a troop can change formation in a sec. I want to attack hand in hand, they jump into squad form, i command to fire, they quickly change to line and so on. Awful.
Camera is horrible too, especially when fighting in towns. AI is stupid, it gets stack in corners it behaves not logical (cannons going alone in front to siege and letting to shoot them from the walls).
So...you hated the game so much 2 months ago that you've apparently continued playing to give us new reasons why you hate the game?

there is a simple answer: YOU ARE A NOOB WHO CAN PLAY GAMES WHERE HE HAS ONLY CHEATED OR MODED!!! Seriously, can't you just play the frikin game and be happy people?

Yes, i'm whining, because i thought it should be a great game but it was way below the level of my expectations and some "features" of this game are just stupid. My mistake probably was, that i have played games of Total War series before IG.

Instead of the insults and "go to youtube" replies i'm waiting for an objections like "no, this feature is great and i like it this way, because ...".

Cheating?? Who needs cheating in this game when one turn a neighbor country is declaring a war on you and the next turn it gives you a pile of money to end the war, happened to me dozens of times, so i just started to declare war on everyone and then waiting for compensations :)) Or maybe it is historically realistic, that cannons were going into charge attack at the castle gates instead of shooting at the walls from a safe distance? :) Can i even call it an AI?

Maybe someone will say "yes, militia should be so powerful, because former civilian men with sticks are stronger than a trained regular infantry with muskets and daggers", in the open field.. yeah..

Or maybe i'll hear "all battles are starting the same, because that way every side has equal opportunities to win". Well, maybe this was the thought of game designers, or maybe they were just lazy to create a system to recalculate starting positions of every side based on attacking/defending state. Sometimes defenders are even in a worse position. Hey, i would probably agree to close my eyes on this, but is it so hard to create a Fast Forward button so one won't have to watch this boring marches till the objective point? Especially if you have to replay that battle few times for a better outcome. This game is not so old to have such feature.

But.. rejoice :) I have deleted the game after my last posting.

yes i do:) the game is very different and i dont know much about starting at the corner of the map being a problem since it doesnt matter; you still have to basically wipe out the opposing army and then even then, you are the defender (if you own the territory) so yeah you whine alot about a small aspect of the game despite its many things it has going for it:) my main defense on the game would be the strategical map play is excellent and the computer AI in this respect, very very cunning. the battles are a perfunctory act of what YOU DO in the strategic. the only real drawback to this game would be that the melee units are on equal par with rifles or even better so they couldve made that far more realistic. but in all its a gem of a game and very different. actually, proof of your whining would be that if you had a point, you would make it, and then ok thats you opinion but, you had posted so much on your issues on it that its laughable simply because its myopic (wahhh my armys start on the corner of the map) and other similar quips; i dont think 6.99 was a huge loss considering what we all have spent on games that sucked big time and cost far more. oh and buy some tissues you must be making a mess of your desk:)

ummm if you tell a square formation to melee yes, they will go into squads and YEP if you order a formation to fire in that century they will form a line so i think your "AI" is off seriously stop with the whining and go to youtube to see how its played:) or get a life!

i will rejoice when they delete your postings since the game is loved by many and me included ( i play many many major games like TW series all of it and still like this game tons) good bye!

Doesn't matter? What if you try to attack one unit with muskets stationed in a building with just one unit with muskets? Who will win? It matters. It is better to start near the building, or in a town, or at least to take the higher ground. I can't accept such system, that i first have to lose many of my troops by conquering a territory and then i have to start in the corner again to defend it. When i was lucky to start in the better position and to be able to reach buildings faster than my opponent, then i sometimes was able to defend with considerably smaller army. Only sometimes, because often defenders start in a worse conditions, farther from the map center, or they may have hills on their way. Such system may be ok with say heroes of might and magic game, but this game pretends to be historical and realistic. Such not logical system just breaks whole aspect of strategy in this game for me. I mean major strategy, where should i drive my armies (and how many troops), what territories to take or give and how to hold them.

Cunning AI?:)) Did i say about artillery storming my town walls instead of shooting or going alone to the front? Or should i install the game again and tape it for you? Btw, you are talking a lot about youtube, so maybe you can give some examples or maybe you even have your own videos showing great strategies in this game or smart AI moves?:)

On the second, you didnt get my point. What i'm saying, that if i try to melee attack with my cavalry a unit, which is in square stance, when my cavalry not just lose some of men and retreat. It will run to the corner of the map (in panic?) and for a very long time it is not possible to take control of that unit again. I understand that it should be harsh (and often stupid to attack such formation in melee), but i think this is a bit too much. But what options do i have? Say my cavalry is with muskets. First i order them to attack in melee a squad of musketeers standing in line and shooting. When my cavalry is in say 50-100 meters range, this squad quickly (i mean in second or two) changes into square formation. If i manage to stop my cavalry quickly and then order to shoot to that square formation, again, square is changing into a line in a blink of an eye. So it becomes a game of cat and mouse and of course AI has an advantage here, because i can't change my orders so quickly, so i lose any cavalry advantage in that situation. This doesn't look very realistic and sometimes can just drive nuts, especially because square formations has such effect on the attacker.
