Anyone know if the ruler and his wife´s stats affect how good heirs you will get or if it is completely random and "genes" have nothing to do with it?

Or can we breed super babies like in CK2 by pairing good stats and attributes?

It should be random but I am seeing a pattern of 3rd child getting much better than 1st and I wonder if that is insentive to change air apperent
