I started with my logitech dual action + keyboard for some especific functions. Now I'm using a joystick I bought yesterday + keyboard.
Also, my joystick is a "Firstline" (since I'm starting I bought the cheaper one), do someone know something about these joysticks? I ask because I've found nothing on the internet, which is kinda weird.
I've never heard anything about that one either.
I use a Thrustmaster Top Gun Afterburner II. Great joystick for the price. Highly recommended.
I use a Saitek AV8R-01 joystick
I've got a bit of a mashup, using a logitech extreme 3d pro as the main stick and a saitek x45 as a second so I can use the throttle (hate the x45 stick but the throttle rocks)

I was about to get this one (it was pretty cheap) but in the end I found mine for 4€, so I though I couldn't be wrong for 4€.
Hehe yeah well for 4€, even if it only lasts a fortnight of gaming then you'veprobably got your moneys worth out of it
I'm putting in another vote for the Saitek AV8R. It's an amazing stick for the price, and very comfortable for flight sim use. The dual-throttles come in very handy in some games, too.
Using the Logitech Attack 3 joystick - does the job
Just picked up a Logitech Extreme 3d Pro... love it so far. I've also plugged in another mouse (and I tried a trackball) for viewing with my left hand. Geeky- yes. But fun ;)

Moving the view with your hand? How quaint, its all about the head nowdays. Personally I find this too hard to get used to but I know people who swear by it

I have TrackIR 4, and it's like a whole new world. Immersion increases tenfold. Takes a while to get used to, but when you do, you can't play without it.
Heh, yes... quaint ;)
However, it's a money saver. I don't play a lot of flight sims, so it's the budget route for me. Plus, the idea of wearing a hat every time I feel like a quick fly doesn't exactly get me excited.

I've just seen a few videos of the TracklR4 and it looks really awesome.

It is awesome. I can't wait for my copy of ArmA Gold to arrive, so I can use it. It's the one thing I miss in OFP - the ability to "put my head in the game". I've seen some videos in dslyecxi's website, with him demonstrating the use of TrackIR in ArmA... and I can't wait to do the same. ;-)
i have an old microsoft sidewinder... but apparently according to a lot of the internet guides you need a joystick with like 50 hats. I only got one, so I guess I'm rolling old school.
Btw, I first played with all the joystick settings at default (like all at 100 in the hardware setup options), but once I set them to the suggested values in the manual the game got SOOOOO much better to play.
