I guess the title is self-explanatory. Can someone tell me what the renders file is for in the additional content section for the game? Are they skins, or just pretty pictures?

They are basically pictures, some pretty, some utilitarian of objects, bombs, planes and cockpits.

My favorite is a group of images that go from showing the framework of a fighter to it being complete and solid.
